Changes to LCL Shipments Amid Canadian Rail Strike

Canadian Rail Strike

Following our recent advisory on the Canadian Rail Strike, we regret to inform you that CPKC and CN Rail services are no longer available for LCL shipments to and from Canada. To mitigate congestion and keep goods moving smoothly, we must adjust our inland transport (I.P.I) program. Where feasible, shipments will be shifted to “Over the Road” (OTR) transport on selected trade lanes.

As a result, an Emergency Transport Surcharge (ETS) will be applied immediately for any Eastbound Import & Export goods received at our Vancouver CFS that need to be repositioned to Montreal and/or Toronto for Import release or Export loading:

US$ 75.00 w/m, US$ 100.00 Minimum

Cargo received at our Toronto CFS, bound for European or Persian Gulf ports, will be moved to our Montreal CFS at our expense, provided suppliers maintain current trucking costs. Please note:

  1. The ETS applies to all current and future bookings where goods have not yet been transferred for release or loading from Vancouver CFS.
  2. The ETS does not apply to goods that do not require repositioning for release or loading (e.g., exports from Vancouver to Asia/Oceania or Montreal to Europe/Dubai).
  3. Hazardous shipments cannot be moved at this time, but we are working on a solution with our suppliers.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging period. Please reach out if you need further information.
